Students
The majority of FLI students live in Harlem and the South Bronx. Students actively participate in an innovative, academically rigorous curriculum and a mandatory extended school day and year. FLI provides an environment of high expectations for students that goes well beyond meeting standards; we strive to instill in them with a lifelong love of learning, leadership skills and FLI's core values. Students enjoy excellent enrichment opportunities including out of state field trips, high quality arts instruction and exciting physical education and sports options. For FLI students, learning does not cease at the classroom door; students embrace learning as a way of life. Their love of learning enables them to adapt to new challenges and succeed for the rest of their lives.
